(6-12 lbs.) This is a great "Icebox" size watermelon for northern states. It is very sweet and round with small seeds. The flesh is medium red and firm. Skin changes from green striped to almost black when ripe. Good for backyard growers and market farmers. 80 days.

After I posted my previous review NE Seeds reached out with a nice email apologizing for the inconvenience and explaining that the seeds are mechanically packaged and sometimes machines screw up so they sent me a new packet. A couple more seeds sprouted too so my germination rate was higher. I haven’t planted the new seeds yet but by feeling the packet it does seem like more than 12 seeds this time.
The packet had about 12 seeds. A total of 5 of them germinated. The melons I planted in the tray on either side of these germinated very well. These, not so much.
