i think i finally got it

i have ordered 4 ounces of salvia st johns over 3 years. ive been covering the seed per hazzards, eden brothers, google, and other websites. but there it is on neseed: needs light to germinate. so trialing it with no cover and so far 67% of cells have germination and i would say each cell had 3 seeds minimum. its only been 10 days.
i grow an array of annuals from seed about 400 each 48 ct flats of 806 inserts starting in 200 ct plug trays per 6 months (winter and summer) so 800 flats a year. i dont consider myself a novice. i use sungro sunshine #4, 9-9-9 super iron, and if covering using fine vermiculite. i have very good success with most things. i have wanted to add salvia splendens to my staple summer list for 3 years. im hoping the no cover method provides the success i am looking for. from here, its a matter of how well the seedlings root now as they germinate, and if some of the rest of the seed will germinate to give a higher percentage of cells for a full plug tray. im very pleased with the seed but not my ignorance. i would purchase a salvia vista or sizzler mix as well if the price was close. those tend to be costly however. tho its already mid june i will still have salvia this year but intend on starting a couple thousand next year if i can work out the germination. thanks NESEED for supplying inexpensive salvia seed.
